Action Renewables Sponsors New Electric Rosie’s Trust Van
Rosie’s Trust is proud to announce the generous sponsorship of a new electric van by Action Renewables, strengthening the charity’s ability to deliver vital services to vulnerable pet owners across Northern Ireland.
The fully electric vehicle will play a central role in expanding Rosie’s Trust’s operational capacity while aligning with both organisations’ commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
The van will enable Rosie’s Trust to:
Carry out in-home assessments for beneficiaries.
Transport pets safely to and from veterinary appointments.
Move pets to and from temporary foster placements during hospital admissions.
Deliver pet food and essential equipment to housebound clients.
Respond rapidly to urgent or complex safeguarding cases.
Reduce reliance on multiple staff vehicles and significantly lower mileage costs
By consolidating journeys into a single, purpose-equipped electric vehicle, the charity will improve efficiency, reduce operational emissions, and ensure a more coordinated response to community needs.
Reducing vehicle emissions also carries wider public health benefits. Transport-related carbon emissions contribute to air pollution and climate change. Major health authorities have identified air pollution as a significant risk factor for a range of conditions, including respiratory disease, cardiovascular illness and certain cancers. Transitioning to low-emission vehicles is one practical step organisations can take to reduce their environmental impact and support cleaner air. Over time, collective reductions in emissions can contribute to improved population health outcomes and may help reduce the overall burden of illness requiring care and support.
Dr Catriona MacArthur, CEO at Rosie’s Trust, said:
“Thanks to the generous support of Action Renewables, we are now better equipped to meet the growing demand for our services. This electric van will allow us to respond more quickly, operate more efficiently, and continue supporting people and their pets in a way that reflects our shared commitment to sustainability.”
Lana Moore, Head of Charity Delivery at Action Renewables, commented:
“Rosie’s Trust provides an essential service to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. We are delighted to support the charity with an electric vehicle that not only enhances their operational capability but also contributes to reducing carbon emissions across their service delivery.”
Rosie’s Trust helps cancer patients, people receiving end of life care and elderly people with mobility issues to keep their beloved pets at home for as long as possible. The addition of the electric van ensures that the charity can continue delivering this essential service in a sustainable and cost-effective way.
At Rosie’s Trust we are celebrating the launch of the new van with a Spot-the-Van Competition. Members of the community are being asked to
