Celebrating International Dog Day 2025
Today we’re joining dog lovers everywhere to celebrate International Dog Day – a day dedicated to the incredible bond between people and their four-legged friends!
At Rosie’s Trust, the volunteers, staff and Trustees see every day just how much joy, comfort and unconditional love dogs bring into people’s lives.
For many of the people supported by the charity, their dog is more than a pet – they are a loyal companion, a reason to smile, and often a lifeline during challenging times. Dogs provide emotional support, help reduce feelings of loneliness, and bring a sense of routine and purpose.
“The relationship between people and their pets is truly special,” says Jayne McStay, Operations Manager at Rosie’s Trust. “For those living with cancer, older people with mobility issues, and those receiving end of life care, that bond can be the most important connection in their lives. That’s why we’re so passionate about helping people keep their beloved pets by their side.”
International Dog Day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate this unique connection – and what better way than sharing some pup pics from Rosie’s Trust supporters in the gallery above! Whether they’re a cheeky puppy or a wise old friend, every dog deserves a moment in the spotlight.
Happy International Dog Day from everyone at Rosie’s Trust! 🐾
