Christmas carols and cheer raise funds for Rosie’s Trust care

Rosie’s Trust volunteers, Kim Hamilton, Olivia Crookes, Sylvia, Fiona Hollowaystone, Laura McMurray and Anne Baker join The Lindsay Chorale at the Europa Hotel.

Northern Ireland’s only charity that cares for people by caring for their pets has received a generous donation of £8,204.02 following a festive afternoon tea fundraiser hosted at The Europa Hotel.

Welcoming over 350 guests, the special event organised by Hastings Hotels included a musical performance by The Lindsay Chorale, led by Musical Director Keith Acheson, a Christmas-themed afternoon tea, and the opportunity to browse a range of stalls selling gifts and stocking-fillers.

During the afternoon of festive cheer, hosted by broadcaster and Rosie’s Trust Celebrity Ambassador, Julian Simmons, guests were thanked for their generous donations which will go directly towards delivery of the charity’s services 365 days a year, provided by 200+ dedicated volunteers.

Rosie’s Trust marked its tenth anniversary throughout 2025 with special events and the launch of a new brand to increase awareness and fundraising for its work to support cancer patients, those receiving end of life care, and older people aged 65+ years old with mobility issues to keep their pets by their side.

Chair of Rosie’s Trust, and The Lindsay Chorale member, Aileen Martin, said:

“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated to help Rosie’s Trust to continue to reach some of the most isolated and vulnerable people in our community through their pets.

“We know the festive season can be a challenging time for many different reasons, but through the music and talent of The Lindsay Chorale, and The Europa’s sumptuous afternoon tea, we were able to come together for an afternoon of fun and friendship, while raising awareness and vital funds for Rosie’s Trust.”
